The School Age Immunisation Team
As you may be aware during the previous lockdown due to the Covid19 outbreak (March – June) schools were temporarily closed which meant the School Age Immunisation Team were unable to complete all routine adolescent vaccinations in High schools. These routine vaccinations were Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio, Meningitis ACWY, HPV and MMR.
Please be reassured we are currently planning catch up school and clinic vaccination sessions for all children who have not yet received their missed vaccinations. These catch up sessions will run from January – August 2021.
We will be contacting schools to agree the proposed dates for the school sessions in the coming weeks and requesting they communicate these dates to you in the normal way.
Many thanks for your understanding and co – operation.

Young people ask the questions that matter to them on the future of careers and employability. Join us as we bring together experts to answer the questions that matter on the future of skills. |
‘Is university worth it?’ is a question often heard from prospective students, parents, teachers, and advisers alike. And, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the conversation around the value of university has become all the more controversial. With so much conflicting advice in the media, online, and from friends and family, how can you tell if university is the right choice to make? There are many reasons to go to university – from studying a subject in-depth to making a strong start in a career.
Newcastle University has written an eBook to bring together the facts about the return on investment received by attending university. They’ve explored each aspect of university life and finances, from how much university will actually cost to what other hidden benefits can come from a degree. Their final chapter looks at some alternatives to university, and the futures and careers they might be suitable for. To download a copy of the e-book, please click on the link below.

The majority of our Year 13 students have now received offers from the universities that they have applied to.
However, there are still a number of students who haven't completed their application form. The internal deadline for this was the 23rd of October. Please can you support the Sixth Form team by asking your son/daughter if they have sent their application off. If they haven't, please encourage them to prioritise this over the weekend.
If they need further support, please ask them to see their tutor on Monday morning. Many admissions tutors will be finishing for the Christmas break soon and we don't want any of our students to miss the opportunity to receive an offer before Christmas. Thank you for your ongoing support.
