I am delighted to welcome you to the Governing Body page of the John Taylor High School website.

The role of the Governor has evolved over the recent years and at John Taylor we continue to support the Head of School, Senior Leadership Team and staff in their respective roles to offer the best quality of education to our young learners.

The enthusiasm for the schools core purpose of improving teaching and learning is matched by the ambitions that the school and the Governing Body share.

As an Academy the Governors also have wider responsibilities for the administration and governance of the school, and at times these can appear cumbersome and a distraction from our core purpose. We ignore these responsibilities however at our peril; it would be too easy to undermine the good work in the classroom by neglecting the issues that Inspectors and Auditors require of us.

Each of the Governors and their category are listed below. All time is given freely and there are no expenses for these roles. Time is spent both attending formal Governor meetings but also regular visits to school to support teaching, learning and the wider activities of the school. If you have any questions regarding Governance at John Taylor please feel free to contact us.
