Uniform

Year 7 - Year 11

School uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of the school and sets an appropriate tone. It instils pride, supports positive behaviour and discipline, and encourages identity with the school. At John Taylor High School, we take pride in our identity as one community and expect all students to wear the full uniform, wear it appropriately and that this expectation will be supported by parents. Uniform can also be useful to protect children from social pressures to dress in a particular way.

Details about uniform providers can be found in the uniform policy below.

Sixth Form

Sixth Form dress is an important part of the School's image. As a public institution we need to project an image appropriate to the work we do and, as senior members of the School, the Sixth Form are an important part of that image. The respect that an institution earns from the public it serves is, in part,
due to the appearance of its members. It is therefore in the students' own interests to adhere to acceptable standards of appearance because they will ultimately benefit by association with a respected establishment. In addition, it is important that the senior members of the School provide a positive role model for the lower school in  terms of smart appropriate dress.
