Drop-Off Before and Pick-up After School
Please can we ask that parents and carers who are dropping off before school or collecting pupils after school are mindful of other road users? The roads around the school do get very busy and we have had one or two near misses with our pupils, particularly given that it is quite dark at these times at the moment. Additionally, we would ask that cars are parked within the normal road regulations. Please do not wait for pupils where there is a zig-zig marking on the road outside of the school.
Thank you for your support with this.
We have two calendared Parents’ Evenings for our Year 11 cohort these are scheduled to take place on Thursday 23rd January and Tuesday 28th January 2020. You will only be required to attend one of the Parents’ Evenings and this is determined by half year group population that your child is part of.
- If your child has Core PE on a Friday Period 1 and Period 2 you will be required to attend the parents evening on Thursday 23rd January 2020.
- If your child has Core PE on a Friday Period 3 and Period 4 you will be required to attend the parents evening on Tuesday 28th January 2020.
Please check your child’s timetable on Go4Schools.
Your child will be given a paper booking sheet by their form tutor, they will then use this to book 5-minute appointment slots with each member of staff. Please make sure your child knows what times are convenient for you to attend. It is advisable to leave 5 minute gaps between each appointment to ensure you can move between different rooms.
On Wednesday 29th January, all of Year 11 will take part in a study skills workshop called '5 Steps to Exam Success'. Details will be provided to students in due course. The company who run these sessions have also agreed to run a 'Parent Power' workshop which is designed to assist parents in supporting their children during preparation and completion of exams. This session has recieved positive feedback over the past three years. It will take place at 6pm and will be in our training centre at the front of school. It is likely to last for an hour. If you would like to attend this session, then please could you complete the form below, including how many people will be attending. Students do not need to attend.

We will be holding our second Harry Potter Book Night on Tuesday 4 February 2020 from 4 to 6 pm in the LRC. All students are welcome to join us for a few hours of all things Harry Potterish, including games, potion-tasting and a quiz finale. Any student wishing to dress up as a Harry Potter character is very welcome to do so. There will be a prize for the best costume on the night.
Places are limited to 30 students. If your child is interested in attending, they need to sign up in the LRC and collect a parental permission letter. As the event finishes at 6pm students will need to ensure they are able to be collected from school by a parent or guardian.
