JTHS Music Department invites you to our glamourous 'Night at the Oscars' evening on Tuesday 4th July at 7.00pm in the School Hall. There will be Music, Drama and Dance featuring performances of famous songs from award winning films.
Tickets will be available on ParentPay from Monday 19th July - £5 for adults and £3 concessions (which includes a refreshing mocktail/soft drink). Please book your tickets early as it is on for one night only and promises to be a sell-out event!
Thank you to parents and carers that have and are continuing to support the current focus on improving uniform standards.
We have received a number of questions relating to sanctions related to uniform infringements. Please see below for an outline of the process:
- When there is a uniform infringement an orange (purple in sixth form) reminder will be verbally given to the student.
- Staff will write the students name on the orange reminder slip, including the type of infringement.
- Staff hand in orange reminder slips to the school offices.
- Once a student has 5 orange reminders in a half term they are given an after school detention.
The after school detention is for uniform detentions only and is part of the schools procedures. Should your child receive an after school detention for uniform they will need to be collected at 4.20pm. We cannot change these detentions to alternative times. In respect of the home/school agreement, we do expect parents and carers to support the school in this.
With temperatures due to cool next week, please ensure that blazers and ties are worn as normal from Monday 19th June.
Please check in with students over the weekend to ensure they have their tie and blazer ready for Monday morning.
Staff will continue to use their discretion in lessons and allow students to alter uniform in classrooms where appropriate. Uniform should meet expectations at all other times around school buildings.
As we approach the Summer holidays, Form Tutors have been preparing students to keep themselves safe. Please find below a presentation that has been shared with Y7-Y10 and Y12 this week.
There are quite a few Community Safety Flashes to make you aware of due to recent house fires in Staffordshire and the current hot weather. The arrival of hot weather means increased use of barbeques, potential wildfires and people being drawn to open water.
This safety flash provides important information on log burners, electrics, home fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire, use of barbeques, outdoor fire safety and water awareness.
