Please find updated attached poster for University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust next Future Workforce Careers Event 2024. The event is on Tuesday 30th April and will run from 4:30pm - 7:30pm.
Following on from our hugely successful event in October 2023, we are hosting our next event at our Queens Hospital Burton site. We are trailing a new booking system due to the high numbers of attendees at our last event. Please encourage your students to follow the Eventbrite link which can be found on our Sway newsletter below or scan the QR code on the attached poster.
This will be an opportunity for your students to find out more information on a host of clinical and non-clinical roles within the NHS - and will help them to make decisions on their future careers.
Please can you print and advertise the attached poster and also share the sway link with your students. We do require that students have booked a space and if numbers are high ( which we anticipate they will), those without a ticket may be denied entry.

REMINDER
Would parents please make sure all pupil dinner money accounts are kept topped up on ParentPay.
At Friday’s production of Grease, there will be a cake sale during the interval, in aid of St Giles Hospice.
Donations of cakes for this sale would be most appreciated.
Cakes may be taken to Miss Bale in U20 at any time, but please NO fresh cream (due to lack of refrigerated storage) and NO cakes containing NUTS (we are a Nut Free School).
Thank you.
NSPCC - What We Do
Abuse robs children of their childhood. Without help, the scars of abuse can last a lifetime. And as devastating as it can be for the child, society pays a heavy price too.
Abuse changes childhood, but so can we
Child abuse is preventable - not inevitable. And it’s up to each of us to do everything possible to keep childhood safe from abuse, so children can grow up healthy and thrive. That’s why we're here and drives what we do. So as long as there’s abuse – we will fight for every childhood. Join us

Year 12 Apprenticeship and Higher Education Evening March 13th 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
The Apprenticeship and Higher Education evening is an important event to support Year 12 students' Post 18 applications and we strongly recommend that all parents and students attend. It will take place on Wednesday March 13th, 6.00pm to 8.00pm.
All parents will attend a practical workshop where they will be issued with a login so that they can support their son/daughter in researching and applying to either university or apprenticeships using UniFrog. In addition to this workshop, parents will be able to choose three further workshops to attend on the evening. These will be offered on the following subjects:
- Apprenticeships
- The University Central Admissions Service (UCAS),
- Writing a Competitive Personal Statement
- Introduction to Student Finance
- Supporting your child in applying to Oxford or Cambridge University
To confirm your attendance and to select your preferred workshops, please complete a short survey https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/6GNBTSX by March 6th.
