There will be an online PTA meeting on Monday 28th June at 7pm. The link to join the meeting was sent out via Schoolzine on Thursday 17th June. If you have not received it and would like to attend, please email [email protected].
On Friday 18th June Go 4 Schools are launching a new, cleaner and more contemporary student page for students and parents. The attached PDF outlines the key features of the new look page and how to navigate the new menu.
Unfortunately due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we are once again unable to host our end of year Awards Presentation Evening in person. However, we will still be recognising our students' achievements with a virtual Presentation Evening, and making sure that they receive their awards and prizes as they usually would. If any local businesses find themselves able to make a small financial contribution to help us cover the costs of these, we would be very grateful. We would also like to acknowledge your donation with a personal 'thank you' given to you/your business on our Virtual Presentation Evening video, which will be broadcast on our social media channels and via Schoolzine to our school community.
If you have any questions or would like to offer your support, please email Mrs Kirkpatrick/Mrs Davies in the Staff Office at [email protected]
Many thanks.

Your Emotional Support Services (YESS) are offering children and young people group support on a "first come, first served" basis. Please contact YESS directly using the details given on the attached poster.
YESS are also accessible on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & have a YouTube channel that young people can subscribe to.
Mrs Turrell
Leader of Inclusive Education (including SENDCo).

We have been blown away by the achievements of our Year 7 students this year with their engagement in our Accelerated Reader programme. Any previous school records have been well and truly broken. Our new school record for Word Millionaires currently stands at 46, considerably smashing our old record. As a sign of things to come, one of our Year 7s set a new personal best record of just over 7 million words read, before Christmas! The records have continued being beaten since then and we currently have fifteen double, three triple, three quadruple, one quintuple and one septuple word millionaires amongst our record setting Year 7 cohort. These achievements have been made all the more remarkable by the lack of access to our wonderful LRC and the dedication of our Year 7s to quiz from home to smash those records. Fantastic reading and quizzing effort Year 7 - you've done us proud.

Please be informed that students in year 7 will be completing Progress Tests in Maths and English from the week beginning 21st June. These are similar to the assessments that were completed in the Autumn term but they will be completed in their regular lessons with their subject teachers.
These assessments use nationally standardised tests to support schools in identifying individual student needs and potential gaps in their knowledge. The maths tests are designed to assess key aspects of maths such as shape, number and mathematical concepts (like money place value and time). The English tests assess key aspects of English such as spelling, grammar, punctuation and reading comprehension. As such students cannot ‘revise’ for these tests and should not worry about them; please reinforce this with your children.
The timetable for these assessments can be seen below:

Year 9 will be having two mathematics assessments during June 2021. The first test will be based on our own internal assessment and will relate to work covered during the first two terms of Y9, along with anything from previous years too. Students have been emailed a list of all topics covered so far, along with potential revision links. This test will take place in their usual lessons on Tuesday 22nd of June.
GL Assessments - Progress Tests. Please refer to the previous article regarding these assessments.
Please remind students to bring all Maths equipment with them and if they have any concerns, please ask them to speak with their Maths teacher or myself.
Best Wishes

Year 10 will be having their end of year mathematics assessment on Tuesday 22nd June 2021 during period two. The test will be based on topics they have covered so far this year and in previous years, however there will be nothing from last half term. A list of topics has been emailed to them to help aid revision, along with links to Mymaths.co.uk and Century.tech should they wish to use them.
It is expected that they bring a pen, pencil, ruler and geometry equipment (a calculator may be needed for the remainder of the lesson but it is not necessary for the test).
Best Wishes
