Dear Parents/Carers
Please see attached an information letter from Staffordshire Police.
Thank you.
We have been made aware by Staffordshire County Council that due to absence there will not be a school crossing patrol on duty from Tuesday 20th October 2020 until further notice, on the Station Road zebra crossing.
We are pleased to announce that Ebooks are now available to all students at John Taylor via the LRC's page of the school website:
The service from Wheelers books, gives access to over 1400 titles, which are regularly updated and can be read on a phone, tablet or PC using the ePlatform app.
Students should use their network login for their username and password, ie. 000001Smith. Full details are given on the attached poster.
We hope students will make good use of this new service and continue to enjoy their reading. A "Click & Deliver" service is still available to all students currently unable to access the LRC. The "Click & Deliver" form is also available from the LRC page on the school website.
Please contact Mrs Collier on [email protected], with any queries relating to access to ebooks or the "Click & Deliver" service.

To mark the enduring importance of November 11th and honour the sacrifices our Armed Forces have made on our behalf we are running a competition open to Years 7, 8 & 9.
If they’d like to enter, then with the theme of “Remembrance” we would ask them to get creative, and either write a poem or short story, or perhaps create a piece of Art (paintings, drawings, models, collages etc).
Artistic entries are to be submitted via photograph. Written pieces can be done on Word and emailed (or a photograph emailed if they’ve written it by hand). Please send your entries to Mr Martin, using the email address on the poster below.
The closing date for this competition is end of school on the 11th of November. There will be prizes for the best entries from each year group as well as for an overall winner.
If you wish to report an absence due to illness, please ring the dedicated absence line on 01283 890772.
If you wish to inform us of a known absence, please click the button below and complete the form.
