Application Process 2019:

If you are NOT currently a student at John Taylor High School, and you wish to apply to join our Sixth Form, please download an application form from our website and return it to Mrs Allison Wiles, Post 16 Admin Officer.  All applications should be returned before the end of January 2019.

Once we receive your application, we will write to you in February inviting you to attend a brief interview and if successful, make you a provisional offer for a place in Sixth Form.

If you are currently in Year 11 at John Taylor High School, you will be invited to attend an interview with a senior member of staff in November to discuss your initial Post 16 Options and choices.  This will be followed up with a second interview in February 2019, to which parents will be invited.

The following table outlines the process to apply to our Sixth Form:

December 2018 Trial Exams – 3rd December: Students should ensure they are fully prepared for the upcoming examinations.  This data will be considered when advising students for Post-16 Courses.
January / February 2019 Trial Exam Results Day – 16th January 2019 – Students will have the opportunity to find out what their exam results really mean.

Consultation Evening with Senior Staff – Thursday 31st January 4:30pm – 7:30pm

March 2019 Conditional Offer Letter Issued – Monday 11th March for their Post 16 option choices, which will also outline the conditions for the course they wish to follow.

 

Return of Offer Letter – No later than Monday 25th March – Students must have returned their offer letter by this date.

July 2019 Bridging Course – Students are expected to attend the Bridging course which involves taster lessons.– Wednesday 3rd July (For students who are new to JTHS only), Thursday 4th July and Friday 5th July (all applicants). 
August 2019 GCSE Results Day – 22nd August – Students receive GCSE results.

GCSE Results Option Changes – 23rd August – Interviews for students who wish to change their option choices and signing on day for all students who are new to JTHS.
