John Taylor Sporting Young Ambassadors recently held their termly community afternoon tea in the hall at John Taylor. Over 30 retired local members of the community of Barton under Needwood visited for an afternoon of sporting entertainment and refreshments in the school hall.  A number of sports where on offer; table tennis, new age curling to name a couple. The visitors were also entertained by Y13 pupil, Sophia Ford, who sang beautifully to the audience.

All this cannot go on with out the help of other staff; thanks to Mrs Beere for the wonderful cakes and scones and also to Mrs Sharp for helping things run smoothly.

Amongst the helpers were the new and upcoming Young Ambassadors and Sports Leaders for many of whom this was their first time helping with these regular afternoons of entertainment. This event happens as a legacy of the Olympic Games which was held in London in 2012.

The date for the next event is Tuesday 28th February, 2.00-3.15pm. If you would like to come, please call school on 239300 from Monday 6th February so we know how much food to prepare for the afternoon. All new visitors most welcome.
