Y7 Summer Creative Challenge

At the end of year seven students were set a creative challenge to transform toilet roll tubes into pieces of artwork that celebrated the value of Art & Design.

Our new Y8 students returned from their summer break armed with their creative challenge outcomes and we were wowed by the responses we received. Students produced a huge range of fantastic outcomes showing so many different creative interpretations and uses of techniques.

We are very proud of our amazing Y8 students: please  go down to L20 to see the display of work.

Derby Taster Day

Level 3 learners have the excellent opportunity to work with university lecturers at Derby. It’s great to build this invaluable IAG into our post-16 courses. Watch this space for the evidence of their photography workshops in quality of their work this year.

Primary Enrichment

We had the pleasure of hosting a primary enrichment session working with 28 Y5 and Y6 pupils from six different primary schools. The day consisted  of developing new skills across art and design, initially looking at drawing and moving into sculptural approaches.

The pupils were a delight; working exceptionally hard and having a great time in the making.
