This event had not been held on the school field for a number of years. Approximately 30, Y7 Young Leaders attended training for the festival and then helped run a very smooth multi-skills festival on the field overseen by four very experienced Young Sporting Ambassadors. 55 Y2 pupils from Richard Crosse, Kings Bromley School and All Saints Rangemore Primary School attended on a lovely day; we were so fortunate not to see a drop of rain. The primary pupils were split into small groups and given labels depicting which group they belonged to: Lions, Penguins, Sharks, Giraffes to name a few. Two leaders stayed at each stations and ran the activity for the whole festival, whilst two leaders looked after each group taking them from activity to activity. The events they participated in ranged from dribbling activities to throwing, balancing and skipping along with a huge parachute to run finish with.

The Y2 pupils had tremendous fun and the Young Leaders from John Taylor were absolutely outstanding and showed leadership skills beyond their years. Confidence and team spirit were in abundance.  Some of the Leaders will now help out at Thomas Russell Infant school sports day in the coming weeks and I know they will do an excellent job there.
