After winning our district tournament, Y8 had made it through to the Level 3 Staffordshire School Games finals. The tournament took place at Keele University campus on Friday 24th June. The girls were very excited, getting in to school early and feeling ready to take on the teams.

When we arrived there were lots of schools there and we set up camp waiting for the opening ceremony to be presented by former Olympic Gymnast Craig Heap. There was a mass warm up to get all schools prepared and ready, which was lots of fun! The girls had six games to play and the team who won the most games, won the tournament. The Y8 girls won every single game; the toughest opponents were St John Fisher from Stoke, but we battled through and won.

A huge congratulations to all of the girls, who played exceptionally well. I am one very proud teacher! Watch this space to see how they get on in the National Championships in Stafford in July – fingers crossed for them.
