The whole of our Y8 have been working on the theme of Natures Connection and their work will be on display at Derby University early September.

Nature Connections Festival is a two-day outdoor celebration of the natural world. One of the first festivals to combine nature with art, history, health, wellbeing and science. Nature Connections promises to be a fantastic event that the whole family will enjoy.

This fun and friendly festival now in its second year will take place in the picturesque landscape of University of Derby on 9th and 10th September 2016. Hosted by TV presenter, famed naturalist and photographer, Chris Packham, with live music, films, arts and crafts, workshops, competitions and nature talks to inspire you to get closer to the nature that is all around us. Free admission!

Nature Connections Festival supports the aims of the University of Derby to promote community engagement and education for schools, colleges and business, through a shared passion for learning about nature, green technology, recycling and upcycling through creative arts and creative ecologies.

There is a Instagram competition which is open to students over 16 years of age

Winners will receive a signed copy of Chris Packham’s Book, awarded to them by Chris Packham.

It’s simple to enter: Upload a photo to Instagram which demonstrates your connection to nature, or how you connect with nature. Use the hashtag #NatureConnections  or email your entries to: b.reardon@derby.ac.uk

All entrants must be over 16, but parents, teachers or guardians can email entries from younger children on their behalf.

Full details of prizes and awards can be found at www.natureconnections.org.uk
