We’re into the last half term of the year, and Kingstone House have achieved a lot so far.

We have raised over £1800 (and counting) for Birmingham Children’s Hospital through fundraising activities such as sponsored runs, sponge-throwing, staff vs sixth form football and netball matches, along with so much more! There are current plans to have a charity Rounders match towards the end of the year and a chocolate raffle on Sports Day – more details about these events will be announced closer to the time, but be sure to support us as far as you can for this incredible cause.

A special mention goes to Jack Montgomery who did a triathlon and raised £250 for the house charity. This was Jack’s first triathlon during which he had to swim 400M, cycle 4Km and run 1 mile. Well done Jack.

Our new house leaders have been busy carrying out their duties. House Leader Danielle Hudson is moving with her form to newly formed Charnwood House. She will retain her House Leader role in her new house and we wish her every success for the future. We have recently appointed Lucy Gilmore to our student leadership team and so our student leadership team is now

  • Charlotte Brookes  (Senior House Leader)
  • Lucy Schofield (Deputy Senior House Leader)
  • Jessica Harris (House Leader)
  • Lucy Gilmore (House Leader)

As you will be aware from September there will be six houses instead of the current four. Five Kingstone forms  K09, K10, K11,K12 and K15 will be moving into Charnwood House. Mr Fogarty would like to take this opportunity to thank the students and form tutors of these forms, for all their help and support they have given Kingstone House.  Next year they will be headed up by Mr Brackstone who is a very lucky man.

With Sports Day coming up on Wednesday 13th July, team sheets have been filled for Y7 to Y10 and Mr Fogarty has been training hard for the staff race! Last year we took the school by storm and snatched the trophy from the other houses to win the day, and it was all down to the commitment of every participant, supporter, and member of staff rooting for us. So this year we’re determined not to let go of our crown and our goal is to win Sports Day for the second year in a row – let’s make history in Kingstone House!
