At the end of February this year seven members of the admin staff moved into a new office – the Data Hub, a refurbished classroom next to the Hall and the Gym. We all work to some extent with pupil data in SIMS, the management system, and were previously spread across five different offices across the site. We are all benefiting from working together, learning more about the roles of others and sharing good practice.  Chrissie Foster is our Exams Manager, and, together with her assistant, Mary Knight, and a team of invigilators, she organises all aspects of exams – no mean feat!  She also manages the reporting system. Louise Joseph is our Pupil Data Administrator.  She deals with the new intake of pupils, keeps pupil records up to date, maintains staff and pupil timetables, assists pastoral staff and generally helps with data.  Annette Dolan is the SEN Administrator.  She provides admin support to the SENCO, including timetabling teaching assistants, setting up annual reviews and updating SIMS with SEN data. Allison Wiles is the Sixth Form Administrator. She deals with all aspects of sixth form admin, including entry to sixth form, timetables, bursaries, UCAS applications and a variety of trips and events. Lynne Keeling is our Attendance Officer.  She ensures that all absences for trips, illness and medical appointments are logged and that unexplained absences are followed up, at both session and lesson level.  She also deals with admissions and appeals.  Carol Coleman is the Data Manager.  She produces analysis of assessment and exam data. She also ensures that the data held on SIMS is complete and accurate and submits the termly census data to the government.  These are just examples of what we do. We have an exciting period ahead as the school is implementing Go 4 Schools in the autumn term which means big changes in the way teachers input and access attendance, assessment and reporting data. This system works in tandem with SIMS and will also provide information directly to parents.  As a team, we will all be very much involved in making this a success.
