Happy New Year Kingstoners! We hope you are all well settled back after the Christmas break, ready and prepared to face all that 2016 will bring. Last year, the House raised an incredible £1700 for our chosen charity, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, which has again been nominated this year as our House Charity. This is an extremely worthwhile cause; every year, the hospital treats over 257,000 poorly children and saved hundreds of thousands of young lives. Our fundraising goal this year is to exceed last year’s total donation, and in preparation, each tutor group has already formulated and submitted each of their fundraising action plans. Let’s aim to reach £2000 or more in 2016!
Back in December, applicants for the new team of House Leaders undertook interviews with Mr Fogarty, and out of those who applied, four new House Leaders were chosen: Charlotte, Danielle, Lucy and Jess. Up until February half term, the new leaders are shadowing the current team, and the full handover will take place after the holidays with the appointment of Deputy and Senior House Leaders.
Lastly, a mention of some important upcoming dates; World Book Day is being held this year on Thursday 3rd March and Rugby/Netball House Matches will begin on Monday 7th March. So, start planning your character costumes and get training your teams to give Kingstone a head start for this year.
