We have been asked to pass on the following important information from Staffordshire County Council
We would like to bring to your attention the following information from the County regarding bus concessions and the ‘Your Staffordshire Card’: Numbers of people using the scheme have fallen significantly and for this reason, along with unprecedented financial pressures, the county will be ending the scheme on August 31, 2019. Passes will be valid until that date. There have been discussions with bus operators concerning ending of the Your Staffordshire Card Scheme and they have commercial options available. To find the current ticketing option that best meets your circumstances contact the bus operators in your area.
The national bus concession in England is available at any time on a Saturday, Sunday or bank holiday, and from 9.30am to 11pm on any other day.
The pre 9:30 travel is a discretionary enhancement Staffordshire has made to the national concessionary travel scheme. Unfortunately, due to unprecedented financial pressures the county council is no longer able to be able to fund this enhancement and is proposing to end the offer from Spring 2019. You can still travel for free after 9.30am or pay the operator’s fare if you wish to travel before this time or after 11pm on weekdays.
People can make comments up to the 30th November by email at email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org or by writing to The Bus pass Team at the address below.

GCSE Certificate Presentation Evening
For pupils in Y12 who sat their GCSE exams at John Taylor in the summer, there will be a Presentation Evening to celebrate their success and to hand out awards and certificates.
This will take place on Wednesday 21st November at 7pm. (Apologies that the original letter sent out with exam results showed 21st November as a Thursday).
A link has been forwarded to all Y12 pupils via their school email address. Please remind them to click on the link to indicate whether or not they will be attending and how many guests (max 2) they will bring. Thanks to those who have already replied. Alternatively, email replies to email@example.com
On the night, there will be a seating plan for pupils (only) and they will be called up to collect their certificates, so it’s important that we know whether or not they are able to attend. Thank you.Read Less

Y11 - Romeo and Juliet - Live Broadcast
On Wednesday 21st of November our Year 11 GCSE students will be given the amazing opportunity to watch a live broadcast of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
The English department have managed to secure a much sought after place among schools across the country and are able to offer our students the chance to see their GCSE Literature text performed live by the Royal Shakespeare Company. The performance will be shown in the hall, and as well as watching the play the students will have the chance to hear from the actors and ask them questions in a Q&A session.
Students will need to be in school for 8.45am on 21st November ready for the performance to start at 9am. We understand that this might be difficult with some buses, but if your child could be reminded to go straight to the hall once they arrive, they will then not miss any of the performance.
This really is a fantastic chance for the students to get to grips with the play and develop their understanding of Shakespeare's work ahead of their upcoming exams.
A reminder to current GCSE pupils and those new to studying them this were, we have access to an online revision resources called GCSEPod. We would encourage all pupils following GCSE courses to make use of this resource on a regular basis. Pupils can log on to GCSEPod by following these simple steps:
- Go to gcsepod.com
- Click Login
- Click New Here? Getting Started
- Select Pupil
- Enter personal details as requested.
- Create a Username and Password
Regular use of GCSEPod can help boost performance at GCSEs, helping with chunking revision as the pupils progress through their courses. As a challenge, pupils should try to engage with three Podcasts per week per subject. GCSEPod is available on PC and Mobile Devices so is a really flexible way of supporting revision.Read Less
