You are warmly invited to our annual Open Evening (for current Year 6 pupils going into Year 7 in September 2020).
Our Head of School, Mrs Cochrane, will deliver a welcome talk at 6:30pm and repeated at 7:15pm. Following each welcome talk, children and parents/carers will also be able to take a tour of the school to see some of the staff and pupils who will be showcasing all that our school has to offer. The school site will be open between 6:15pm and 9:00pm. Parking is available on site with additional parking in the main village car park.

We are an outstanding school where students make exceptional progress and are well prepared for the next stage of their lives.
Open Week - Monday 21st to Friday 25th October
In addition to the Open Evening, we provide the opportunity for guided tours during the school day in the week of Open Evening. Places are limited to three per family and by prior arrangement only. If you would like to book one of these tours, please contact main reception on 01283 247800.
Early Closure for Open Evening – Thursday 24th October. School will close at 1.10 pm
Friday 25th October is a normal school day.
The half term break is Monday, 28th October – Friday 1st November.
We are holding our Open Evening for parents of Year 6 children on Thursday 24th October – 6.30 pm-9.00 pm.
The school will close at 1.10 pm in order to provide time for staff to prepare rooms, displays and experiments. Bus companies have been notified and buses will be departing from school shortly after 1.10pm. At the end of lesson 4 all pupils catching buses should go straight to the bus queues.
Pupils receiving free school meals may, if they wish, get their food from the canteen, at morning break. A reminder will be in the daily pupil bulletin.
If your son or daughter has volunteered to help out on this evening, please ensure she/he has returned the appropriate permission slip (supplied by the teacher) and turns up in full school uniform. They should check with the teacher they are helping what times they are needed for.
You may find it useful to check the school website regularly for details of special events and consultations www.jths.co.uk
Our PTA do a wonderful job, working collaboratively with the school. Please take the time to read the letter below from our Head of School, Mrs Cochrane. Thank you.
There are many different social media platforms that children and young people access; many have an age limit. We would actively encourage parents to check their child’s social media accounts, consider how well you know your child’s digital footprint and online history.
We thank parents in advance for promoting online safety with their childen.
Students are not permitted to leave school site at the end of the school day if they are due to catch a bus from main school site. If alternative arrangements are being made for students who usually catch a bus from school site to be collected, students should have a letter written by parents/carers and signed.
Students who leave school site and attempt to return will not be permitted back on to school site which may result in them missing their bus.
Please may we ask that parents/carers have this conversation to ensure the expectations are clear. Thank you.
Would parents/carers please read IMPORTANT INFORMATION in this letter regarding the Y11 Prom and our expectations.
